Pre-owned, Vintage African, handmade, wood carved, maternity, fertility statue, of seated tribal couple with a nursing baby. Ashanti Baule Ghana ( called waka snan, people of the woods) Reddish wood, black opaque stain and white chalk like markings highlight design carved lines and symbols. I acquired item in 1990 from man named Kojo, who lives in Ghana. Statue age is unknown. Looks great on a book shelf. Very good used condition. See photos for condition.
