Wonderful victorian pressed white milk glass posy trough made by Sowerby.
Sowerby trademark on the base
This piece appears in their 1882 catalogue as Nursery Rhyme Pattern pattern number 1232 and features Old King Cole based on the illustrations of Walter Crane.
Measures 5" x 3 1/4" x 1 3/4"
Condition: Structurally sound. One larger spot of discoloration inside. Small tiny cracks/scratching on top edge of dish which I photo above (doesn’t go all the way through). Some small flea bites on side edges as well. There are several faint lines on the surface that appear to be mold lines or manufacturing seams typical of early pressed glass, but I cannot rule out light scratches from age. Minor scuffing on fiddlers. Please see all photos!
