Vintage Cottage Ware Tea Set by Maruto Mu 1940's Occupied Japan. This is a hand painted cottage tea set with a thatched roof and brick pattern made in Occupied Japan. The bottom of each piece is marked "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN" and a "T" IN A CIRCLE.
The teapot measures approximately 6 1/2" high, 9" long and 5" wide.
The creamer measures approximately 3" high, 2 3/4" wide
The sugar bowl measures approximately 4 1/4" with the lid on, and 3 1/4" wide.
The teapot is in good condition with no cracks or breaks, however there are 2 very small chips on the end of the spout. The creamer is in good condition with no cracks or breaks, however it has a slight chip on the edge of the spout and nick from the brown paint on the edge of one of the windows. The sugar bowl has a break on the underside of the lip that can't be seen with the top on. There is crazing on the inside of each piece due to age and use. The price has been adjusted.
