Some information about Dianite:
Dianite was discovered in 1997 in exactly the same place as another famous Russian mineral, charoite. It was found in the Murun Mountains in Yakutia, to the north from Baikal Lake in Russia.
This stone became popular almost at once because of its unique blue color, which can be found in all shades of blue - from light to dark.
The stone was named dianite after Princess Diana. Its structure is similar to one of nephrite (dianite is, in fact, an amphibole). It is often referred to as “blue nephrite" or “Siberian blue jade" as a result of its similarity to nephrite.
