This stunning vintage women's ring is a classic piece of Navajo silversmithing, likely originating in the 1970s or early 1980s when large, bold turquoise rings were highly popular. The central stone is a sizeable cabochon of natural turquoise, which displays a beautiful, complex color: a striking green hue with rich, dark brown matrix webbing. This specific color and matrix pattern is often associated with turquoise from the Royston or Pilot Mountain mining districts in Nevada. The stone is set in a serrated, sturdy bezel, surrounded by traditional scallop work and applied silver beads, with a split shank for comfort and balance.
