This vintage small Kachina doll hand-carved by a Native American artist is a unique cultural collectible. With a height of 4 inches including the feather and a width of 1 1/2 inches, this Katsinam Kachina doll represents an aspect of the Native American culture, specifically from the Hopi and Zuni tribes.

Katsinam are representatives of spiritual beings, who, for example, are thought to bring rain and blessings. Traditionally kachina are hand-carved from the root of the cottonwood tree, revered for its ability to seek water.

Is in excellent condition as has been encased in a display shelf since purchased in 1982. Please refer to the photos to view this kachina’s overall condition. There is some writing on the bottom, however it is not legible and may be either the artist’s name or indication of the specific spiritual being it represents.

Handmade in the United States most likely in 1982, this is intricately crafted, vibrantly painted and weighs only 0.5 ounces.
