This is a decorative plaque or trinket dish, made by Wedgwood Jasperware, featuring a relief of The Old Curiosity Shop in London. This historic building, constructed in 1567, was immortalized by Charles Dickens in his 1841 novel of the same name.
The shop is one of London's oldest surviving buildings, made from salvaged ship wood, and it survived both the Great Fire of London and the Blitz.
It is located at 14 Portsmouth Street, on the south-western corner of Lincoln's Inn Fields. This comes with the original box, information booklet, and original certificate from London. This is a great gift for book lovers, Wedgwood collectors, or the traveler who frequently visits London. Measures 4.25" diameter.
