This hard to find piece is in very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks but it does have some staining as shown in the photos above. There is also some kind of residue from possibly a sticker on the bottom, can be removed.
This lovely trinket box was produced by Wedgwood in England in 1936 in order to commemorate the Coronation of Edward VIII, which was due to happen on 12 May 1937, but as we know the King's abdication meant his coronation never took place, but was instead replaced with the Crowning of his brother George VI and his wife Elizabeth, the parents of our late Queen Elizabeth the second.
The box measures 4 inch's square or 10cm and stands just under 3 inches high, with an internal depth of 2 inches.
This would make a great addition for any collector of this time period, as decoration or as a useful object to store small items.
